Meet Nadia

Hi, I’m Nadia, a qualified nutritional therapist and registered dietitian with a practice in Bristol, and online, addressing a wide range of conditions. My practice is based on naturopathic principles treating each person as a whole and focusing on allowing the body’s natural ability to heal itself. The food we eat, and lifestyle choices we make play a crucial part in our health and wellbeing.

I have a particular interest in gut health, the gut/brain connection and how alterations in our gut microbiota (resident gut bacteria) may have a role to play in conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s and depression. I also have unique experience working with the demands of life with a chronic condition.

Nutritional healing

Nutritional Healing involves treatment directed at likely root causes of disease, rather than simply alleviating symptoms with medicine and drugs. It harnesses the healing power of whole and organic foods as medicine, and is based on the understanding that the nutrients we consume make hormones, create energy, detoxify, support immunity and brain health, optimise gut function and ultimately maintain balance.

Benefits of my approach

  • The body's natural self healing potential

I look for possible underlying causes of disease, rather than just treating symptoms, so promoting overall health.

  • Collaborating on a bespoke plan

I work collaboratively with you, understanding you holistically, and create a bespoke plan tailored to your specific needs. This sets you up for a positive outcome.

  • Promoting a can-do mindset

My own personal experience of living positively with a chronic condition enhances my ability to help you develop a powerful can-do mindset.

  • I have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s and I wanted to see what I could do to help myself. With much patience and understanding, Nadia has shown me exactly what I can do. I now feel I have a better understanding of nutrition and how it affects my body, I certainly notice the difference and so do my family!

Common concerns

Fatigue and lack of vitality

Fatigue and a loss of general vitality are extremely common side-effects of many physical, and mental conditions, from Parkinson’s Disease, to depression. Alongside other changes, addressing your diet and making targeted improvements can mitigate this.

Unexplained symptoms

Sometimes a traditional, medical approach to diagnosing symptoms can reach a dead-end. I can work with you to change your diet, addressing the emotional, physical, and mental causes of your symptoms, to hopefully uncover clues to help with diagnosis and offer some relief.

Feeling oppressed

Chronic conditions can leave people feeling oppressed and at times, hopeless. My approach aims to give you hope and a sense of optimism for the future, improving your wellbeing and helping you to feel better.

A problematic relationship with food

You might be seeking help with a problematic relationship with food for you, or a loved one. My holistic, empathetic approach can help you move towards a more positive relationship, embracing food as your fuel and the building blocks of wellness.

Gut related symptoms

Often if you are suffering from unpleasant gut-related symptoms, you will have tried mainstream approaches to address your discomfort, or pain. When these methods haven’t improved things for you, it’s time to look for a more holistic solution, and make changes to your diet & lifestyle.

Hormonal Imbalances

Are you experiencing mood swings, irritability, numbing anxiety, tension headaches, bloating, painful periods, low energy or menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes, insomnia or unexplained low mood? Healthy hormone balance relies on a healthy gut and liver, and these can be supported through specific food and lifestyle choices.
